I do understand that traveling and movement in the game makes in dynamic and fun but when trying to beat personal day records it helps to hunker down. In a real life like situation such as tld I'd rather be fat and "live comortally happy" than an "adaptive" style where I make 1 bad desicion and die. Just as a thought though, as this game becomes more life like my style to living in the world is more life like. I'm also super stoked the devs (keep up the good work) are trying to incorporate this into the game and make it more life like.

I totally agree with you about real life situations where stuff is not there or always convient. (My last post as we should move this to a discussion forum rather than bill Native Americans crafted indian heads hundreds, if not thousands of years, before a forge was ever built on North American shores. I would also like to point out that a forge is not a necessary component of making arrowheads. I only have the deerskin pants crafted but in another 2-3 days everything should be cured enough to have crafted all of the other clothing items as well. I know this from personal experience.įinally, does anyone have any suggestions for me on how I can get to the forge location in the most efficient way. Ultimately this decision significantly hurts new players and the submersion into the game and their interest going forwards. If I might offer a suggestion that there be a way to craft a more rudimentary arrowhead crafted at any table and then a more advanced one made in the forge. I'm sure I will get over this as I was greatly enjoying the game, but I find my desire to play the game seriously hampered by this. This creative decision seroiusly hurts the new players submersion into the game. I have yet to even find any of the new locations.

How am I possibly supposed to find this new forge with my limited experience in the game. I now find my self in the Trapper's Homestead on day 12 with one bullet left for the rifle. Imagine my shock as I start crafting my bow and arrows to discover I can no longer make arrowheads like I could the previous 2 times I had played. I literally started playing this game 3 days ago and was just starting to get the hang of it (longest I have survived is 12 days on my current playthrough). I have to say I do not like this creative decision either. The areas will also be adjusted to work with story mode activities as well. Īs the game develops during alpha, some items, crafting, and mechanics will be expanded or changed. If you find a magnifying glass, then theoretically you can live in the game indefinitely. If you feel a location such as the forge isn't worth travelling to, then you don't have to (you'll simply need to adapt to hunting or gaining food without supplies from there). Nobody is "forced into a massive trek" - travelling is a personal choice. It's not about building a long comfortable happy life, it's about adapting to what's available. If everything was brought to just one place, then there would be no purpose or point in having multiple maps or areas. One of the main points of the game is to travel. Hunting at these locations would mean using a bullet and since the meat calories are nerfed, 1 kill will only last me a week (2 max if I get 90 lbs of bear).īut just like in real life where you don't get to pick and choose where you want people to set up everything so it's more convenient for somebody, not everything would or should be placed so it's convenient. Since I prefer hunting for food, and saving edible loot for emergencies, I'm kinda forced into a massive trek for arrowheads now if I start ML or PV. If I want the bow early game now Im forced to start CH or DP.
